Print Production

This project is an exploration of the rules and principles of print production. Each chapter highlights the different stages leading up to the final production of a book, from color matching to choosing a paper weight that fits the book.

The book was designed around the ambivalence of unsettled serenity. The negative space and white of the paper creates a soft tone that is followed throughout each page. The graphics are light and delicate, reflecting the beauty of serenity while being contrasted with fraying edges, creating an unsettled feeling. The color palette is soft and subtle, also contributing to this feeling of serenity. The final book was printed and produced on 65lb paper and delicately bound using the coptic binding method.
